UCAN Ireland
United Cancer Advocates Network is a patient-led advocacy group launched in April 2025, uniting cancer advocates from across the island of Ireland. Representing a broad spectrum of cancer types and communities, UCAN speaks with one voice to address systemic challenges affecting all cancer patients.
Driven by data and focused on solutions, UCAN targets priority areas for action to improve cancer care delivery. As a network of dedicated volunteers, we leverage our collective strength to raise awareness, influence policy, and hold decision-makers accountable. Our mission is clear: to ensure equitable, timely access to world-class cancer care for every patient in Ireland.
Purpose & Priorities

We Are Stronger Together
At UCAN Ireland, we believe that unity is our greatest strength. By coming together as advocates from diverse cancer communities, we amplify our collective voice and push for meaningful change. Collaboration allows us to share knowledge, support one another, and stand in solidarity for faster access to treatments, better care, and stronger policies. Together, we are a powerful force for progress—because no one should face cancer alone, and no voice should go unheard.
Our Actions
Fast and Fair Access For PatientsEarly Access
Key action area is on ensuring fast and fair access for Irish cancer patients to the latest innovative treatments to ensure best standard of care. Early access schemes are in place in most other countries and these help ensure patients get access to the latest treatments while discussions on price are ongoing.
