Letter to the Minister – Programme for Government commitments
Today UCAN sent this letter to Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD this morning in response to a PQ submitted on our behalf by Pádraig Rice TD, Chair of the Oireachtas Health Committee.
Ireland has the second highest rate of new cancer diagnoses in the EU in 2022 and it is the leading cause of mortality accounting for 30% of all deaths. People in the public health system here face significant delays in accessing new medicines. We are calling on the government to make good their commitments made in the Programme for Government
